A small disturbance will ride along the jet stream and through the area this afternoon.

For the morning, it will be another classic, with sunshine gradually mixing with puffy fair weather clouds.

The clouds will continue to grow this afternoon as the disturbance provides some extra lift in the atmosphere. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will start to pop during the mid-afternoon and will continue for several hours.

The showers and storms are likely to remain discrete or conglomerate into a few small clusters. Severe weather is generally not expected, and while it may rain hard for a few minutes, excessive rainfall is not a major concern.

By sunset, the showers and storms will dissipate, and skies will clear through the evening. Areas that see some heavy rain may have a little patchy fog.

Temperatures will rise into the mid 80s this afternoon with dewpoints pushing into the 60s this afternoon. Evening temperatures will fall back through the 60s with an overnight low just under 60 degrees.

Winds will be from the south throughout the day with speeds around 5 mph.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: A few showers and storms possible. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a few showers. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs near 90.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Late showers and storms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s.
