An overall quiet weather pattern will continue across the region today with an absence of any weather systems passing through.

Today’s weather will follow a classical summertime cycle, starting out with sunny skies and mixing in some puffy fair weather clouds by the mid to late morning.

Partly cloudy skies will dominate the afternoon, and while most areas will stay completely dry, a stray spit of rain cannot be totally ruled out. Even on the offhand chance it does rain, it probably would not even be enough to wet the pavement completely.

Skies will quickly clear as the sun sets this evening, and clear skies will persist through the night.

Winds will be light and variable throughout the day with speeds at or under 5 mph.

Temperatures will be warmer than yesterday with highs near or slightly above 80 degrees. Tonight, temperatures will fall through the 60s on their way to an overnight low in the upper 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Sun and clouds. Afternoon showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Tuesday: A few showers and storms possible. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a few morning showers. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a few showers. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s.
