High pressure will begin to build into the region today, but there will still be a slight chance for a stray shower.

The morning hours will be typical for summer time, starting off with some patchy fog, then turning sunny before fair weather clouds begin to mix in.

Mixed skies will persist into the afternoon hours. Late in the afternoon, a few stray showers may pop up. Most areas will not see rain. Those that do should only see a brief period of light rain.

The chance for showers will persist into the evening twilight, then dissipate as skies begin to clear. Clear, quiet conditions are expected for most of the evening and through the overnight.

Northwest winds will blow between low pressure departing New England and high pressure building in. Wind speeds will be near 10 mph with an occasional gust as high as 25 mph.

Temperatures will be held in check by the northwest wind with highs in the mid 70s. Humidity will be low, with dewpoints in the 50s or even 40s at times.

Evening temperatures will quickly fall through the 60s and into the 50s. Most areas will see nighttime lows in the low to mid 50s, but a few cold pockets could slip just below 50 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low and mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Afternoon showers and storms. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
