A cold front will drop through the area this afternoon, bringing a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

The morning hours should remain quiet and dry. Sun will mix with clouds and wildfire smoke. The air quality may be slightly reduced through the morning.

The best chance for rain will be between about 1-5 PM this afternoon. Some additional showers may linger beyond this time into the early evening.

During the afternoon, clusters of thunderstorms may become strong to severe at times. Damaging winds will be the primary risk, but there could also be some hail.

If multiple rounds of storms hit the same area, they will be slow moving enough to produce some poor drainage flooding.

Temperatures will top out in the upper 70s and low 80s. Winds will start the day from the south before turning to the northwest and ending from the north. Wind speeds will be 5-10 mph.

Tonight, any lingering showers will dissipate, leaving partly to mostly cloudy skies. Nighttime temperatures will drop to the upper 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Maybe an early morning shower. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs around 80 degrees.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms, some possibly strong. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
