County: Individuals arrested for stealing personal property; one individual sells items

Two individuals were arrested earlier this week in connection to stolen personal property and the selling of stolen items, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report stated that through an investigation, a man and a woman stole personal property from a store parking lot.

According to the report, Gabe P. Morris and Kyah Stein, both 45 years of age, stole items from a vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart store in the town of Cortlandville.

Morris then sold stolen firearms to an individual at a residence in the town of Willet, the report noted

Stein and Morris were arrested on warrants on Tuesday. Morris was charged with fifth-degree conspiracy (a Class-A misdemeanor), seven counts of fourth-degree grand larceny (a Class-E Felony), third-degree grand larceny (a Class-D Felony), two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a Class-D Felony) and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a Class-A Misdemeanor). Morris also has two counts of a criminal sale of a firearm charge (a Class-D Felony) in Willet.

Stein was charged with seven counts of fourth-degree grand larceny (a Class-E Felony), third-degree grand larceny (a Class-D Felony) and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a Class-D Felony).

Morris was arraigned and sent to Cortland County Jail on a $5,000 cash-or-$10,000 bond. Stein was arraigned and sent to county jail on a $2,500 cash-or-$5,000 bond.

Stein and Morris are set to appear in Cortlandville town court at a later date, while Morris is due to appear in Willet town court on Tuesday (Aug. 15).
