Low pressure will depart the area today, sending our weather back into a tranquil phase.

Lingering clouds behind the low will persist for at least the early and mid-morning hours. A few spits of drizzle or a brief shower will be possible with the clouds.

Through the late morning and midday hours, the cloud should break up and allow some sunshine through. The afternoon will then be a mix of sun and fair-weather clouds.

No additional precipitation is expected in the afternoon.

West winds during the morning will turn to the northwest by midday. Wind speeds will peak near 10 mph during the early to mid afternoon. The wind will lessen late and go nearly calm during the evening.

Temperatures will be close to the seasonal averages, if not a degree or two below. Look for highs mostly in the upper 70s with a few hilltops sticking to the mid 70s.

Dewpoints will drop from the 60s in the morning to the 50s during the afternoon.

Skies will clear tonight, though thin clouds will begin building back in after midnight. Evening temperatures will drop through the 60s with overnight lows in the mid 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Sunshine filtered by increasing thin clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with occasional showers. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.
