High pressure will be in firm control of the region today.

No rain is expected and skies will be a bit sunnier than they were yesterday.

There will still be some occasional thin clouds high in the atmosphere. These should generally not block too much of the sun, and at times, they will be absent altogether.

The center of the high pressure will be off to our northwest, which will result in northerly winds today. Wind speeds will be near or just over 5 mph.

Temperatures will remain a bit below average as a result, with highs in the low and mid 70s. It will be quite dry with dewpoints in the upper 40s and low 50s.

Tonight, skies will continue to be a mix of clear patches and some thin clouds. Overall, though, the cloud cover will be less than during the day.

Winds will also become calm as the high pressure passes overhead.

This will lead to quickly falling evening temperatures with 50s likely within a couple hours of sunset. Overnight lows will end up around 50 degrees with pockets of 40s likely.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: More clouds than sun with showers and storms possible, but still uncertain. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Friday: Rain showers possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Rain showers possible, but highly uncertain. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
