A cold front will move through the area today, ushering in a cool airmass for a couple of days.

Winds will shift to the northwest, marking the frontal passage, early on this morning. The wind will quickly increase once it shifts with speeds of 10-15 mph throughout the day. A few gusts may approach 30 mph.

These winds will push cooler air into the region. High temperatures today will struggle, and in many cases fail to reach 70 degrees.

Dewpoints will be on the decline as well, falling from the 60s early through the 50s.

Despite the noticeable wind and temperature impacts from the front, precipitation will not be a major factor today. It will remain cloudy with spits of drizzle and occasional showers, but neither thunderstorms, steady rain, nor heavy rain are expected.

The chances for stray showers will persist into the evening hours, but after midnight, skies should begin to clear. Some areas of fog may develop as temperatures drop.

Evening temperatures will start out in the upper 50s, but by Thursday morning, lows will bottom out in the upper, possibly even mid 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid and upper 40s. Afternoon highs near or just under 70 degrees.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
