A local man was arrested over the weekend in connection to items stolen from a vehicle, according to a report.

The City of Cortland Police Department report stated that Keith J. Anderson, 42, was identified through security video as the individual using a credit card that was stolen from the vehicle.

According to the report, city police received a complaint from a victim that someone had gone through the victim’s vehicle on River Street.

A wallet with credit cards and other items were stolen from the victim’s vehicle, the report noted. The victim told city police that the credit card was used twice after it was stolen from the vehicle.

The report stated that officers located and arrested Anderson shortly thereafter. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property (a Class-E Felony) and petit larceny (a Class-A Misdemeanor). Anderson is due to appear in court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing to determine if anyone else was involved in the crime, the report noted.
