High pressure has moved overhead, resulting in a chilly morning but a mild afternoon.

After starting well in the 40s, sunshine will help temperatures warm steadily this morning. Aiding the warming process will be the loss of the north wind that blew yesterday.

Instead, with high pressure directly overhead, winds will be calm, or at times, light and variable.

The lack of cool winds will bump temperatures up a few degrees over yesterday with highs in the mid 70s. Some higher elevations will top out in the low 70s.

Dewpoints will remain very low at around 50 degrees, so the air will be dry.

Skies will be sunny from start to finish once again. Only a light haze from a small batch of smoke high in the atmosphere is expected. No air quality impacts are anticipated from this smoke.

This evening, skies will remain clear with temperatures quickly falling to the 50s.

However, a south wind will gradually develop, and some thin clouds will work in after midnight. This could keep temperatures from dropping much further, with overnight lows mostly staying just above 50 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Very small chance for a stray brief shower. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Sunday: Sunny with a few fair weather clouds. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Monday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s.
