A cold front will depart the area today, taking us from rainy to sunny.

Showers will be possible throughout the morning hours. Gradually, the rain should taper off and end, likely before midday.

Clouds will persist for a few hours after the rain comes to an end. It may take until the late afternoon, but sunshine will eventually break out as dry air associated with high pressure builds in.

The clearing trend will persist into the evening and overnight hours when mostly clear skies are expected.

Winds will be from the northwest throughout the day with the front pushing east early this morning. Wind speeds will be gentle, though, coming in at just over 5 mph.

Temperatures will be on the cool side with most of the county topping out in the mid 60s. Dewpoints will drop through the 50s during the day.

Ideal cooling conditions will be present tonight, with temperatures quickly falling into the 50s this evening. Overnight lows should make it down to the mid 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: A little sun early and late. Plenty of fair weather clouds otherwise. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low and mid 60s.
