High pressure will be firmly in control of our weather today.

Skies will be sunny from start to finish with few, if any, clouds whatsoever.

With the high centered just to our west, light north winds will blow today. Wind speeds will be just over 5 mph with top gusts under 20 mph.

Afternoon highs may be a degree or two warmer than yesterday, with mid 60s for most areas. A few warmer pockets may sneak into the upper 60s.

Temperatures will quickly fall this evening underneath clear skies and calm winds. Evening temperatures will drop to the upper 40s.

There may be a few thin clouds building in from the east during the predawn hours as the very edge of the cloud shield associated with Hurricane Lee approaches the area. These clouds could keep temperatures a couple of degrees warmer than they would be with fully clear skies.

Still, overnight lows should make it to the low and mid 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Thin clouds on the edge of Hurricane Lee. Some breezy north winds, but nothing abnormally strong. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 60s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs around 70.

Monday: More clouds than sun with an occasional shower. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 60s.

Tuesday: A morning shower. Then some sun. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 60s.
