Varsity Golf: Cortland vs. Marcellus

The Cortland Purple Tigers lost 233-219 against Marcellus. (Reminder: lowest score in golf wins).

Varsity Golf: McGraw vs. Jordan-Elbridge

The McGraw Eagles lost a tough match against Jordan-Elbridge with a team score of 291-264 at the Knickerbocker Country Club in McGraw Wednesday afternoon. (Reminder: lowest score in golf wins).

Varsity Field Hockey: Cortland vs. Weedsport

The Cortland Lady Tigers lost 0-6 against Weedsport at home Wednesday night. With this loss, Cortland has fallen to an overall record of 0-4. 

Weedsport’s goals were scored by Kayla Flask (2 goals), Daisy Milton (1 goal), Olivia Quinn (1 goal), Nevaeh Sobiech (1 goal), and Ayla Stark (1 goal). 

Cortland’s next game will be played on the road against Cazenovia on Wednesday (September 20th) at 4:30pm.

The Homer varsity girls volleyball team rallied back after losing a close first set against county rival Cortland to ultimately win the match in four sets Wednesday night.

Up next, Homer will host Fowler at Homer high school today (Thursday, September 14th) at 6pm. Cortland plays Corcoran at Cortland high school today (Thursday, September 14th) at 6:30pm. 

Varsity Girls Tennis: Homer vs. Phoenix

The Homer varsity girls tennis team defeated Phoenix with a team result of 6-1 Wednesday evening. 

Here are the results from each of yesterday’s matches:

  • First Singles: Mackenzie Skodzinsky (Homer) defeated Sabrina Haynes (Phoenix) - (6-1) & (7-5)
  • Second Singles: Ginny Park (Homer) defeated Finley Harwood (Phoenix) - (6-3) & (6-1)
  • Third Singles: Georgia Wallis (Homer) beat Claire Pritting  (Phoenix) - (6-4) & (6-3)
  • First Doubles: Lauren Franco & Emma Effinger (Homer) beat Elizabeth Bullis & Gabrielle Reynolds (Phoenix) - (6-1) & (6-0)

Varsity Girls Soccer: Cincinnatus vs. Stockbridge Valley

The Cincinnatus varsity girls soccer team improved their unbeaten streak to 6-0 after a shutout win against Stockbridge Valley Wednesday evening.

According to the Cincinnatus athletic’s page, the Lady Lions are scheduled to host Otselic Valley on Friday (September 15th) at the Fireman's Soccer Field. The game will kickoff at 5:45pm. 

Varsity Girls Soccer: Marathon vs. Lansing

The Marathon Lady Olympians lost a tight game against Lansing by the minimum score of 0-1 at home on Wednesday.

Marathon’s next game will be a divisional game against Groton this Friday (September 15th). The game is scheduled to be played at Marathon high school with a 4:30pm starting time. 

Varsity Boys Soccer: Cincinnatus vs. Stockbridge Valley

The Cincinnatus Lions defeated Stockbridge Valley 1-0 on the road Wednesday evening in order to improve to a 3-1-1 overall record.

The only goal of the game was scored in the second half by Cincinnatus’ Avram Moses (assisted by Koda Temple).  

Cincinnatus is now scheduled to play DeRuyter on the road on Friday (September 15th) at 4:30pm. 

Varsity Boys Soccer: McGraw vs. Otselic Valley

The McGraw Eagles won an intense game in double overtime against Otselic Valley Wednesday afternoon with a score of 3-2. 

McGraw was led by Thomas Bonyak (2 goals), Jaydon Bassett (1 goal), Ryan Parks (1 assist), and Calob Sutton (1 assist).

Otselic Valley was led by Owen Davis (1 goal), Braden Davis (1 goal), and Austin Brown (1 assist). 

McGraw’s next game will be played at home this Saturday (September 16th) against Bishop Ludden at 10am.
