Fire damages trailer home in Cortland County

No injuries were reported in a fire that heavily damaged a trailer home in Cortland County on Sunday, according to a release.

At 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, the Cortlandville and Homer fire departments responded to the trailer home fire in Penguin Trailer Park in the town of Cortlandville.

The release noted that upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions on an enclosed attached porch of the trailer. The fire was knocked down in 15 minutes, the release stated, as firefighters attacked the majority of the fire from outside the trailer.

As of Monday morning, Cortlandville deputy chief Mike Biviano said the fire is still under investigation with the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. The trailer home has been deemed a total loss.

TLC-EMS and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Cortlandville and Homer fire departments on scene.
