High pressure will build into the region today and take control of the weather for the rest of the week.

There will still be some clouds, drizzle, and a couple of showers around for the first part of the morning as low pressure pulls away. The clouds will linger into the late morning hours but should begin to break up.

Through midday and the early afternoon, the breaks in the clouds will increase until, by the mid-afternoon, skies should turn mostly sunny.

From there, skies will remain mostly to completely clear through sunset and into the nighttime hours.

A breezy northwest wind will blow today with speeds of 10-15 mph. Top gusts on the day will be near 30 mph.

The wind will keep temperatures down, even as the sunshine increases. Look for highs today mostly in the mid 60s. A few hilltops may remain in the low 60s.

Temperatures will be quick to fall tonight, reaching 50 degrees by the mid-evening hours. Overnight lows should easily make it into the mid 40s, though some even colder pockets will be possible.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. A few morning clouds. Morning lows in the low and mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low and mid 40s. Afternoon highs around 70.

Friday: Mostly sunny with some later clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Saturday: More clouds than sun. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs near 70.
