Low pressure over southern New England will depart today as high pressure builds in from the west.

The low pressure may throw some clouds and possibly even a stray shower our way this morning. Even during the morning, though, some breaks of sunshine will be possible.

Sunshine will then increase through the afternoon as the low departs. Mostly sunny skies should take over before dinnertime.

Clear skies are expected tonight, though a few pockets of fog may develop in the usual, fog prone areas.

Winds will be out of the north between the low and the high pressure systems. Wind speeds will be light, however, with speeds around 5 mph.

Some warm air riding up and over the high pressure system will begin to move in on these north winds. This will lead to warmer temperatures, not the typical cool down in this type of pattern.

Look for highs today to get close to 70 degrees, though most of the county will probably end up a degree or two short of quite making it to 70.

Evening temperatures will drop the mid 50s with overnight lows only making it down to around 50 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Monday: Sunny with fair weather clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 70s.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 70s.
