An individual was arrested over the weekend and now faces multiple charges for separate incidents, according to reports.

A Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report stated that on Sept. 29, Jentre T. Bergman, 32 of Cortlandville, allegedly entered a residence and engaged in a physical altercation with a victim. Bergman was also violating a full stay-away order of protection, the report added

According to the report, county sheriff’s officers conducted a traffic stop on Sept. 30 in Cortlandville and found Bergman as a passenger in a vehicle. It was also discovered that Bergman had multiple active warrants, was violating another order of protection and had an illegal weapon in his possession.

Bergman’s incident on Sept. 29 led to charges of first-degree criminal contempt (a Class-E Felony), criminal obstruction of breathing or circulation and second-degree criminal trespass (both Class-A Misdemeanors), and second-degree harassment (a violation).

The traffic stop on Sept. 30 prompted charges of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a Class-D Felony) and second-degree criminal contempt (a Class-A Misdemeanor).

Bergman was processed, arraigned and sent to Cortland County Jail. He was remanded on $50,000 cash bail, $100,000 insurance bond and a $250,000 partially-secured insurance bond. He is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville town court on Wednesday (Oct. 4).
