Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Tuesday’s events:

The Homer Lady Trojans lost 0-6 against Chittenango Tuesday night on the road, making them fall to an overall record of 5-7-2. 

Homer goalkeeper Kennadie Taylor made 16 saves in the game. 

Chittenango was led by Abby Scheidelman (3 goals & 1 assist), Hannah Machan (1 goal & 2 assists), Abby Baldwin (1 goal & 1 assist), Gracie Hayes-Brazell (1 goal), Taylor Velardi (1 assist), and Rebecca Baldwin (2 saves). 

Homer is now scheduled to host Mexico at Homer high school on Thursday (October 12th) at 5:30pm.

The Cortland Lady Tigers fell to an overall record of 5-9-1 after losing to Mexico with a score of 1-3.

Cortland’s next game will be played at Cortland junior-senior high school against Tully this Thursday (October 12th) at 4:45pm.

The No.7 Class D state ranked Cincinnatus Lady Lions improved their unbeaten record to 14-0-1 after beating Oxford with a score of 9-1 on the road Tuesday evening. 

Cincinnatus was led by Cassia Schuyler (5 goals & 1 assist), Jocelyn Turshman (2 goals & 3 assists), Ava Larrabee (2 assists),Madelyn Pittsley (1 goal), Peyton Tefft (1 goal), and Payton Landers (1 assist).

Up next, Cincinnatus will look to end their regular season with an unbeaten record as they play their last regular season game against Madison this Thursday (October 12th). According to Cincinnatus’ athletics calendar, the game is scheduled to kickoff at 4:30pm at Brookfield School.

Varsity Girls Soccer: McGraw vs. DeRuyter

The McGraw Lady Eagles lost a home game against DeRuyter with a score of 0-2. With this result, McGraw has fallen to an overall record of 3-11. 

Both of DeRuyter’s goals were scored by Rhya Richardson. Her goals were assisted by Danica Burrows and Chelsey Prince. 

McGraw goalkeeper Heather Magee recorded 5 saves in the game. 

McGraw is scheduled to play their last game of the regular season on the road against Otselic Valley. The game will be played on Thursday (October 12th) at 4:30pm. 

Varsity Boys Soccer: Cortland vs. Mexico

The Cortland Purple Tigers defeated Mexico 3-1 in order to improve to an 8-7 record. 

Cortland was led by Caden Albright (1 goal), Jamir Bell (1 goal), Spenser Dodds (1 goal), Tayton Bowman (1 assist), and Liam Burns (6 saves).

Cortland will host their last regular season game at Cortland junior-senior high school on Thursday (October 12th) against Christian Brothers Academy. The game will kickoff at 6:30pm.

The Homer Trojans fell to a 2-10 record after losing to Chittenango with a final score of 0-3 Tuesday evening. 

Homer goalie Oliver Kida recorded a total of 11 saves in the game. 

Chittenango was led by Gavin Karwoski (2 goals), Cole Thomas (2 assists), Micah Schiralli (1 goal), Jake Wagner (1 assist), and Logan Bronner (3 saves). 

Homer’s next game will be played on the road against Mexico on Thursday (October 12th) at 6:30pm.

The Cortland Lady Tigers defeated Mexico in three straight sets Tuesday night. With this win, Cortland improved to a 6-6 record. 

Cortland was led by Alizabeth West (12 kills, 7 digs, 1 assist & 2 aces), Katie Harris (1 kill, 9 digs, 27 assists, & 2 aces), and Natalee Kressler (1 kill & 14 digs). 

Mexico was led by Adriana DiManto (4 kills, 14 digs & 1 ace) and Kaylee Halsey (1 kill, 3 digs & 8 assists). 

Up next, Cortland will host Central Square at Cortland junior-senior high school tonight (Wednesday, October 11th) at 6:30pm.

The Homer Lady Trojans fell to an 8-6 record after losing in three straight sets to West Genesee. 

Homer was led by Lilly Sorenson (6 kills, 4 blocks, 6 digs & 3 assists) and Mackenzie Hubbard (4 kills, 5 digs & 5 assists). 

West Genesee was led by Claire DeVore (12 kills, 1 block & 1 dig) and Sonya Dunham (1 kill, 6 digs, 15 assists & 2 aces). 

Homer’s next match will be played on the road against Westhill tonight (Wednesday, October 11th) at 6pm.
