Persistent low pressure over eastern Canada will start to drift eastward today but will bring another day of clouds.

A few glimpses of sunshine cannot be ruled out from time to time, but these will be the exception.

There may also be a few scattered showers from time to time. Much of the day will probably end up dry, though.

Winds will again be from the southwest with speeds up to 10 mph. Top gusts should come in around 25 mph.

Afternoon high temperatures will mainly be in the mid 50s.

Tonight, the chances for rain showers should decrease and skies will become partly cloudy with light to nearly calm winds.

Evening temperatures will drop into the 40s with an overnight low around 40 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Periods of clouds mixing with sunshine. Only a small, outside chance for rain. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Increasing clouds. Some sunshine filtering through at times. Morning lows in the mid and upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: Rain likely, possibly heavy at times. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Sunday: Cloudy with numerous rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs near 50.
