Cincinnatus girls soccer moves up in latest state rankings

The Cincinnatus girls soccer team moved up in the latest New York State Sportswriters Association rankings.

The Lions, who recently capped their regular season with a 15-0-1 record, are ranked sixth in the state in Class D this week. The team moved up one spot from last week’s rankings.

Cincinnatus is the top seed in this year’s Section III Class D tournament. The team is scheduled to host 16th-seeded Alexandria at 3 p.m. Thursday. The Class D girls soccer bracket is here.

Other Section III Class D teams ranked in the state are Copenhagen (14-1-1) at No. 5, Bishop Ludden (15-1-1) at No. 8 and Poland (10-5-1) at No. 14.
