County Sheriff: Woman causes head-on collision, charged with DWI

A woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after she caused a head-on collision, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report stated that officers responded to the 46.9 mile marker on Interstate-81 in the town of Cortlandville for a motor vehicle accident around 1 a.m. on Nov. 5. 

According to the report, Ashlee J. Roach, 33 of Chittenango, drove her vehicle on the wrong side of the road. This led to Roach causing a head-on collision with another vehicle, the report continued.

The report stated that Roach and four occupants in the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. All five individuals were transported to medical facilities for evaluation.

Along with her DWI charge, Roach was also charged with reckless driving (misdemeanor). Roach also received multiple traffic infractions, including for improper entrance/exit of a controlled access highway, disobeying traffic control devices and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

Roach was released and is now scheduled to appear in Cortlandville town court on Nov. 27.
