Paving continues in the downtown area on Monday.

According to Crown City Rising, construction crews are grading and paving at the intersection of Main Street, Port Watson Street and Tompkins Street. Paving will also take place on the east side of Main Street from Clinton Avenue to Court Street. This work will require lane closures and lane shifts.

Crews are also raising manholes and water valves from Clinton Street to Tompkins Street in the center of Main Street. This work will also come with alternating traffic lanes and could necessitate some temporary road closures on Main Street.

Also on Monday, test hole digs for the placement of a new traffic control signal as well as along Main Street will continue.

The various projects on Main Street are the city’s continuation of its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). Cortland started working on projects last year.
