County Sheriff: Woman uses counterfeit bills at local store

A woman was recently arrested after she used counterfeit bills at a local store, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that officers responded to a fraud complaint at the Dollar General store in the town of Cuyler on Oct. 7.

According to the report, Heather A. Hill-Yackel, 46, had passed two $100 counterfeit bills at the store before police arrived.

Hill-Yackel was arrested on a warrant last Thursday (Nov. 2). She was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (a Class-C Felony).

Hill-Yackel was arraigned, released and now due to appear in Cuyler town court on Nov. 13.
