The annual Cortaca Jug football game is slated for this weekend.

The No. 15 SUNY Cortland Red Dragons and the No. 14 Ithaca College Bombers will square off at noon Saturday at Butterfield Stadium. It’s the first time a Cortaca Jug game will be held at Ithaca College since 2017.

The Red Dragons and Bombers will face off for the 81st time since 1930. It’s also the 64th contest as part of the history of the Cortaca Jug game since it began in 1959.

Ithaca College has an all-time series record of 43-34-3 against SUNY Cortland, including a 38-25 mark in the Cortaca Jug matchup.

Last season, the Bombers beat the Red Dragons by a 34-17 score at Yankee Stadium. During the 2021 campaign, SUNY Cortland came away with a 28-27 win over Ithaca College.
