A handful of Veterans Day events are scheduled to take place in Cortland County this weekend.
HOMER POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS
The Homer police and fire departments will be holding a Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 11) at the Homer Veterans Police and Fire Memorial at Durkee Park.
The ceremony will honor current and past members of both departments. The public is invited to attend.
CITY OF CORTLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT
The City of Cortland Police Department is hosting a Veterans Day breakfast this Friday (Nov. 10) from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Community restaurant at 10 Main St. The Veteran of the Year will be announced at the event.
A veteran and one guest eat for free.
VFW POST 2534 (Cortland)
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2534 will be holding a Veterans Day breakfast on Saturday (Nov. 11) from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Veterans eat for free.
