Most of today will be cloudy and quiet, but the evening will turn active as a warm front lifts north into the region.

Any sunshine early this morning will be replaced with clouds before too long as the warm front draws closer to the region. Cloudy skies are likely through the midday and afternoon hours, but without any precipitation.

Toward sunset, the chances for precipitation will begin to increase. Most of what falls should be rain, but there could be some snow or sleet mixing in for the first hour or two.

As the precipitation turns over to rain, some embedded downpours will be possible through the evening hours. The heaviest precipitation should end by midnight, with sporadic, lighter showers through the overnight.

Ahead of the front, winds will start from the north this morning. Wind speeds will be light and will gradually turn to a more easterly direction.

These winds will ensure it remains chilly today with many areas not getting to 40 degrees. Evening temperatures will settle in the mid 30s.

Winds will turn to the southeast then south overnight, increasing to speeds around 10 mph. This will push temperatures up, and by Thursday morning, temperatures should be making their way into the low 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Morning clouds and a few rain showers. Maybe some afternoon sun. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
