The Cincinnatus girls soccer team is set to make its second-straight Class C state final four appearance this weekend.
The Lions (19-0-2) will face Section II’s Fort Ann in the Class D state semifinal round at 2:30 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 11) at Homer High School. The winner of this game moves on to the Class D state championship game at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, also at Homer HS.
Cincinnatus, this year’s Section III Class D champion, is coming off a 2-0 win over Section IV’s Edmeston in the state regional round last weekend. The Lions are currently ranked second in the state in Class D, according to the New York State Sportswriters Association.
Fort Ann (13-4-2), ranked fourth in the state in Class D, is looking to make its second state championship game appearance in the past five seasons. The Cardinals fell 1-0 to Section V’s Kendall in the Class D state championship game in 2018.
