Man threatens to harm individual (County Sheriff’s Blotter)

A man threatened to harm an individual over the phone, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that officers investigated a harassment complaint on Tuesday (Nov. 7) in the village of Marathon.

According to the report, Stephen G. Winston, 49, contacted an individual by phone and “threatened to physically harm” the individual.

Winston was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment (a Class-A Misdemeanor). He was processed, released and now due to appear in Marathon town court on Dec. 7.

 

Jacob A. Ruddy

Ruddy, 30 of Truxton, was arrested early Friday morning (Nov. 10).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers conducted a traffic stop on Route 281 in the town of Cortlandville.

According to the report, Ruddy failed to stop at a steady red traffic signal. He was also found to be driving while intoxicated (DWI). 

Along with his DWI charge, Ruddy was also charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (BAC of .18 or higher), failure to stop at a red traffic signal and for obstructed drivers’ view.

Ruddy was arrested, processed, released and now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Nov. 27.
