County Sheriff’s Blotter: Criminal contempt, larceny, DWI and more

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office released arrest reports on criminal contempt, larceny, a DWI and more.

Below are the arrest reports:

Ashley K. West

West, 32, of the village of Marathon, was arrested late Saturday evening (Nov. 11).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers responded to a residence in the town of Lapeer for a domestic dispute.

According to the report, West violated a full stay away order of protection. Officers arrested West at her residence.

West was charged with second-degree criminal contempt (a misdemeanor). She was arraigned, released and now due to appear in Lapeer town court on Dec. 14.

Evelyn V. Renz​

Renz, 37 of the town of Cincinnatus, was arrested on Thursday (Nov. 9).

The county sheriff’s office report stated that Renz engaged in a physical altercation while in the presence of a child.

Renz was charged with endangering the welfare of a child (a misdemeanor) and second-degree harassment (a violation). She was arraigned, released and now due to appear in Cincinnatus town court on Dec. 20.

Dustin Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick, 35 of Ithaca, was arrested late Saturday evening (Nov. 11).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers conducted a traffic stop on Route 281 in Cortlandville for speeding.

According to the report, Fitzpatrick was driving while intoxicated. Along with his DWI charge, Fitzpatrick was charged with aggravated DWI (misdemeanor, blood-alcohol content .08 of 1% or greater), and possession of an open container and speeding in zone (violations).

Fitzpatrick was processed, released and now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Nov. 27.

Mekhi J. Neely

Neely, 21 of the village of McGraw, was arrested during the early-morning hours of Saturday (Nov. 11).

The county sheriff’s office report stated that on Jan. 11, officers responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts in Cortlandville for a larceny complaint.

According to the report, Neely stole $50 from the cash register while employed at Dunkin’. A warrant was issued for Neely’s arrest on March 5.

Neely was arrested and charged with petit larceny (a misdemeanor). He was arraigned, released and now due to appear in court at a later date.
