Low pressure will pull away from the region today, but northwest winds will keep clouds and some lingering lake effect in the area.

The best chance for lake effect will be this morning. Most of what falls should stay as rain, but some snow may mix in at times, especially over higher elevations.

The precipitation should gradually dissipate during the midday hours and most of the afternoon should be dry. Clouds will take longer to dissipate, but a few glimpses of sunshine may be possible before it sets.

Skies will become mostly clear for a time this evening, but then thin clouds will increase during the late evening and through the overnight. No additional precipitation is expected from any of these clouds.

Winds will be steady from the northwest throughout the day. Morning wind speeds will be near or slightly above 10 mph.

The wind will become lighter through the afternoon and should be nearly calm for a time this evening. After midnight, a light south wind will take hold.

Temperatures will only reach the low 40s this afternoon. Evening temperatures will drop into the low 30s and overnight lows will end up in the mid and upper 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Thin overcast filtering the sunshine. Morning lows in the mid and 20s. Afternoon highs around 50.

Thursday: Sunny with a few stray clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Increasing clouds with late rain. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with occasional rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
