Today will be a quiet, warmer day as south winds bring mild air towards the region.

Clouds will be persistent throughout the day. These clouds will be high in the atmosphere, so they may be thin enough at times to allow for some filtered sunlight. No precipitation will fall from these clouds.

Despite the limited sunshine, temperatures will end up about ten degrees warmer today than yesterday. Look for highs near or slightly above 50 degrees.

The warmer temperatures will be the work of southerly winds. These winds will blow at speeds slightly over 5 mph. Some of the hilltops in the northern parts of the county may see wind speeds near 10 mph. Top gusts should stay near 20 mph.

Tonight, the clouds will move along, and skies will clear. Most of the night should be starlit.

South winds will persist, preventing temperatures from dropping too far. Evening temperatures will fall to around 40 degrees with overnight lows in the low 30s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Sunny with a few stray clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Increasing clouds with late rain. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a few rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Sunday: Cloudy with spits of rain and snow. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
