The weather will be quiet for Thanksgiving today with slightly above average temperatures and some sunshine.

Clouds will gradually dissipate this morning as higher pressures build into the area. Scattered clouds will still be possible throughout the day, but there should be a good deal of sunshine as well.

No precipitation is expected during the daytime hours.

Winds will turn from the northwest early on to a westerly or even slightly south-of-west direction. Wind speeds will be around 10 mph with gusts peaking around 25 mph.

Afternoon highs will top out in the mid 40s. A few of the northern hilltops may stick to the low 40s.

Tonight, a subtle cold front will drop south through the region. Clouds will increase, and there will be a small chance for some showers or flurries. Most areas will see little to no precipitation.

Predawn Black Friday shoppers may encounter a few of these lingering flurries with temperatures dropping to the low 30s. Winds will be turning to the northwest with speeds under 10 mph.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Clouds and some sun. Maybe some late lake effect snow in the northern parts of the county. Temperatures steady in the low 30s most of the day.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Sunday: Some early sun, then increasing clouds. Evening flurries or showers. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Monday: Clouds and some sun. Maybe a stray shower or flurry. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
