Cincinnatus girls basketball team loses close first game of the season vs. Utica Academy of Science

The Cincinnatus Lady Lions started their season with an 0-1 record after losing a close game to Utica Academy of Science on the road Tuesday night. 

Cincinnatus lost the game with a score of 20-27. 

The Lady Lions were not able to get going at the start of the game, and ended with only 5 points scored in the first half. 

Cincinnatus came out to score 15 points in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to come back and win the game. 

The Lady Lions were led by Cortney Scutt (11 points), Rachael Standish (4 points), Sidney Glover (4 points), and Lydia Scutt (1 point). 

Utica Academy of Science was led by Zaria Spratt (16 points) and Leila Colon (6 points). 

Cincinnatus’ will look to bounce back in the first round of the Madison tip-off tournament on Thursday (November 30th). Cincinnatus is scheduled to play Stockbridge Valley in the first round of the tournament at 5:30pm. 

Other teams participating in the tournament are Madison and Otselic Valley.
