The Village of Homer Board of Trustees unanimously approved the purchase of a new vehicle for the police department at its meeting on Tuesday.

The new police vehicle is a 2023 Dodge Charger pursuit with all-wheel drive. According to village treasurer Tanya Digennaro, the vehicle costs $39,699.53.

The new vehicle will be replacing an old one. Homer police chief Bob Pitman said the new vehicle will be part of the patrol fleet.

“It keeps the fleet going,” Pitman said.
