Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Tuesday’s events:

The Cortland Purple Tigers fell to an 0-2 record after losing to Chittenango with a score of 30-69 at Cortland junior-senior high school. 

Cortland was led by Cal Albright (9 points), Zachary Muir (4 points), Caden Albright (4 points), and Quinn Woodard (4 points). 

Chittenango was led by Ryan Moesch (35 points) and Jack Lamphere (9 points). 

Up next, Cortland will play Syracuse Academy of Science on the road this upcoming Tuesday (December 12th) at 7pm.

The Homer Trojans started their season off with a 1-0 record after winning 44-35 against OnTech Charter at Homer high school Tuesday night.

Homer’s next game will be played on the road against Syracuse Academy of Science on Friday (December 8th) at 7pm. 

Varsity Boys Basketball: Marathon vs. Oxford Academy

The Marathon Olympians improved to a 1-1 record following their 38-35 road win against Oxford Academy Tuesday night. 

Marathon was led by Zachary Birdsall (13 points), Bode Carter (7 points), and Jacob Byron (5 points). 

Note: Oxford Academy’s stats were not made available by the time this article was written. 

Marathon is now scheduled to play Newfield at Newfield high school tonight (December 6th) at 7:15pm. 

Varsity Girls Volleyball: McGraw vs. Stockbridge Valley

The McGraw Lady Eagles lost in three straight sets against Stockbridge Valley on the road Tuesday night. This was McGraw’s first match of the season.

The Lady Eagles will look forward to playing their county rival Cincinnatus at McGraw high school on Monday (December 11th) at 7pm.
