A large high pressure system over the southeastern United States will extend its influence into our region today.

Southwest winds on the periphery of the high will keep any lake effect clouds limited to the early morning hours. Once these move out or dissipate, skies will be quite sunny for the rest of the daytime hours.

The southwest winds will blow at speeds up to 10 mph, with the highest speeds coming in the afternoon. Top gusts will be around 25 mph.

The sunshine and southwest winds will make it warmer today than yesterday. Look for highs mostly in the upper 30s, though a few of the higher elevations may stick to the mid 30s.

Tonight, a quick moving cold front will push through the region. This front will only be accompanied by a brief increase in cloud cover and a few flurries. These will occur during the late evening or shortly after midnight.

By Wednesday morning, skies will be partly cloudy again.

Evening temperatures will dip into the mid 30s with overnight lows in the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Clouds, some sun, and a few late flurries. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Thursday: Sunshine and some occasional thin clouds. Morning lows in the upper 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Friday: Sunny with some thin clouds late. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe a late rain shower. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
