Christmas Day will be quiet and on the mild side today.

There will be clouds around throughout the day, but the sun should make an appearance as well.

The best chance for sunshine to mix with the clouds will be in the late morning through the mid-afternoon.

The clouds that move back in late in the day and during the nighttime times may be thin enough to allow for some sunlight and moonlight to shine through.

A light south to southeast wind will blow today. Wind speeds will be around 5 mph with top gusts on the day under 20 mph.

Temperatures will push their way into the upper 40s for a time this afternoon. A few hilltops may stick closer to 45 degrees.

Tonight, temperatures will be slow to drop, not getting below 40 degrees until about midnight. Overnight lows will just make it into the mid 30s.

The clouds will thicken after midnight, but no precipitation is expected.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Cloudy with a few showers possible, mostly in the afternoon. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Wednesday: Cloudy with rain showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
