Mild weather will continue today as chances for precipitation gradually increase.

The morning hours should be dry, though a stray spit of rain cannot be totally ruled out. Rain chances will increase during the afternoon, but the precipitation should still be showery and hit-or-miss.

Skies will be locked into a thick overcast throughout the day. Glimpses of sunshine will be rare to non-existent.

South and southeast winds will continue but will be a bit stronger than yesterday. Top wind speeds will approach 10 mph. The northern hilltops may see a few gusts approach 25 mph.

Temperatures will not be much different than yesterday, with most areas getting up into the upper 40s this afternoon.

Tonight, rain showers will continue to increase, and there may even be a few periods of steadier, light rain. The heaviest rainfall will hold off until Wednesday, though.

It will be a warm overnight with temperatures mostly holding steady in the mid 40s. Wind speeds will remain steady.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Cloudy with rain showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Thursday: Clouds, some sun, and perhaps some evening rain or snow. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Friday: A mix of clouds, some sun, and perhaps some lake effect snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Saturday: Breezy. More clouds than sun with lake effect snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs near 30.
