City Police: Individual shot on Christmas Eve; investigation is ongoing

The City of Cortland Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place during the late-evening hours of Christmas Eve, according to a report

The report stated that Cortland police officers responded to a shooting on Church Street between Elm Street and Central Avenue at 11:43 p.m. on Christmas Eve. 

According to the report, an 18-year old female was shot. Her injuries were non-life threatening, and she was treated and released at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

The investigation is ongoing. The report noted that the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Lt. Dan Edwards at the city police department at 607-758-8307.
