Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, December 27, 2023:

A slow moving frontal boundary will move through the area today with periods of steady rain.

It will likely rain through most of the daylight hours. A few breaks in the rain, or at least some lighter periods, are possible, especially in the afternoon.

The rain will fall at a moderate rate at times, and by the evening hours, rain amounts will be around a half inch since sunrise.

Winds will be out of the southeast today but will not be overly strong. Wind speeds will be under 10 mph and top gusts be under 20 mph.

Temperatures will remain mild with afternoon highs in the mid and upper 40s. Evening temperatures will only back into the mid 40s. Temperatures may slide into the low 40s just before sunrise.

Rain showers will gradually become more sporadic this evening, but spits of rain and drizzle will continue overnight and into early Thursday.

Thursday: Cloudy with occasional showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a few rain showers, possibly turning to flurries by evening. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: More clouds than sun with lake effect snow showers. Little to no accumulation expected. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Sunday: Cloudy but dry. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
