County Sheriff’s Blotter: Arrests for DWI, criminal contempt

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office recently released reports on arrests for driving while intoxicated and criminal contempt.

Here are the reports:

Douglas M. Wildenstein

Wildenstein, 53 of the town of Dryden, was arrested on Wednesday (Jan. 10).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers dispatched a harassment complaint at the Walmart store in the town of Cortlandville.

According to the report, Wildenstein was driving while intoxicated and “driving his vehicle around the parking lot” with no headlights on.

Wildenstein was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI (both misdemeanors). He was issued traffic tickets, released and is now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Jan. 29.

Joseph P. Cunningham

Cunningham, 37 of Cortland, was arrested on Tuesday (Jan. 9).

The county sheriff’s report stated that on Jan. 4, Cunningham violated a full stay-away order of protection by contacting the victim through social media.

According to the report, a warrant was issued on Jan. 5 for Cunningham’s arrest. He was located at a business in Cortland this past Tuesday and taken into custody.

Cunningham was charged with second-degree criminal contempt (a misdemeanor). He was processed, arraigned, released and is now due to appear in Virgil town court on Jan. 30.
