Varsity Wrestling: Homer vs. Mexico

The Homer Trojans competed in a dual match against Mexico Thursday night. Homer won the dual match with a team score of 47-30.

The Marathon Olympians lost in a dual match against Windsor with a team score of 33-34.

Varsity Girls Volleyball: McGraw vs. DeRuyter (Spike out Cancer game)

The McGraw Lady Eagles won their “Spike out Cancer game” against DeRuyter in five sets Thursday night, where they also raised over $1,100 dollars for the American Cancer Society.

McGraw’s next match will be played on the road against Sherburne-Earlville this upcoming Tuesday (January 16th) at 7pm. 

Varsity Girls Volleyball: Cincinnatus vs. Stockbridge Valley

The Cincinnatus Lady Lions defeated Stockbridge Valley on senior night after three straight sets. With this win, Cincinnatus now holds a 9-2 record. 

A total of three seniors (Shailynn Davis, Lydia Custer, and Kaylee Brenchley) were celebrated at the match.

Cincinnatus was led by Allyson St. Germain (5 kills, 3 digs, 6 aces & 11 service points), Lucy Finch (1 kill & 1 block), Payton Gerrard (1 kill, 8 digs, 2 aces & 6 service points), Kaedance Latta (1 kill, 2 blocks, 2 digs, 8 assists, 1 ace & 2 service points), Madison Stover (3 assists, 3 aces & 10 service points), Madelyn Pittsley (1 kill, 3 aces & 4 service points), Shailynn Davis (1 kill & 1 dig), Lydia Custer (1 dig & 2 service points), Kaylee Brenchley (2 kills & 1 dig), and Cassia Schuyler (2 kills, 7 digs, 3 aces & 9 service points). 

Stockbridge Valley was led by Siena Marzan (7 kills, 1 block, 5 digs & 2 aces), Aspen Tucci (4 kills, 1 block, 5 digs & 3 aces), Paige Webb (13 assists & 2 aces), Lyla Cross (1 kill & 7 digs), Barbie Myers (4 digs), and Hannah Sherman (3 digs). 

The Lady Lions are scheduled to play Sandy Creek on the road this Saturday (January 13th) at 12pm (noon). 

Varsity Girls Basketball: Cortland vs. Westhill

The Cortland Lady Tigers improved their overall record to 10-1 after defeating Westhill with a score of 45-36 at Cortland junior-senior high school Thursday evening. 

Cortland was led by Claire Turner (15 points), Valerosa Gambitta (9 points), Kendall Mack (8 points), Aubree Larkin (4 points), Kartyr Hubbard (4 points), Katherine Harris (3 points), and Lily Yang (2 points). 

Westhill was led by Izzy Young (13 points) and Kara Rosenberger (13 points). 

Up next, Cortland will take on Mexico on the road this upcoming Tuesday (January 16th) at 6:30pm. 

Varsity Boys Basketball: Cortland vs. Westhill

The Cortland Purple Tigers lost to Westhill with a score of 76-39 on the road, making them fall to an overall record of 2-9. 

Cortland was led by Jaxson Gambitta (11 points), Cal Albright (6 points), Antonio Terrazas (5 points), and Owen Michales (5 points).

Cortland is now scheduled to host Mexico at Cortland junior-senior high school on Tuesday (January 16th) at 6:45pm.

The Cortland-Homer Golden Eagles lost 7-0 against Skaneateles Thursday night. With this loss, Cortland-Homer has fallen to an overall record of 3-10. 

Skaneateles’ goals were scored by Trevor Jensen (2 goals), Tye Kennedy (1 goal), Luke Mizro (1 goal), Casey Morrissey (1 goal), Kaden Rutledge (1 goal), and Braedan Taggart (1 goal). 

Cortland-Homer goalie Jack Mederios recorded 50 saves in the game, while Danny Angelina made 14 saves for Skaneateles. 

The Golden Eagles’ next game will be played at the New Hartford Rec Center against New Hartford on Wednesday (January 17th) at 7:30pm. 

Varsity Boys Bowling: Homer vs. Cortland

The Homer Trojans defeated the Cortland Purple Tigers with a team score of 5-2 Thursday afternoon at Hi-Lanes in Homer.
