Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Tuesday’s events:

Varsity Boys Basketball: McGraw vs. DeRuyter

The McGraw Eagles won 56-54 against DeRuyter at McGraw high school Tuesday night in order to improve to a 9-2 record. 

McGraw was led by Caleb Epp (15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists & 2 blocks), Calob Sutton (12 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists & 2 steals), and Jaydon Bassett (8 points. 12 rebounds, 3 assists & 1 block). 

DeRuyter was led by Wesley Pforter (25 points), Nick Whitt (11 points), and Daniel Holl (10 points). 

McGraw’s next game will be played at McGraw high school against Madison this Friday (January 19th) at 7pm.

The Homer Trojans made a second half comeback to beat Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central (ITC) with a close score of 65-62 at Homer high school Tuesday night.

The Homer Lady Trojans have fallen to an overall record of 3-9 after losing against ITC with a score of 52-76 on the road. 

Homer was led by Lauren Franco (19 points), Elia Spanbauer (14 points), Kaylee Darling (9 points), Elizabeth McCloy (5 points), Madison Morgan (3 points), and Kennadie Taylor (2 points). 

ITC was led by Addison Sheridan (22 points), Elise Jackson (16 points), Iymani Sheppard (9 points), Treasure Taylor (9 points), Nyomi Thomas (6 points), Neveah Best (6 points), Eloquence Flowers (3 points), Amayzing Woodrum (2 points), and Kiyla Montgomery (1 point). 

Up next, Homer will play on the road against Chittenango on Friday January 19th at 7pm.
