State Police investigating Monday night shooting

New York State Police troopers are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday evening.

According to State Police, troopers were dispatched to 2632 Route 13 in Homer for a report of shots fired. Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene.

The report stated that upon arrival, troopers found one individual with gunshot wounds to the leg. The individual was transported to SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for treatment, and the gun was secured, the report noted.  

No charges have been filed, and the identities of the shooter or the victim have not been revealed at this time. State Police stated that the incident remains under investigation.
