A man allegedly assaulted a woman in front of a child, according to a report.
The City of Cortland Police report stated that Calvin L. Ridley, 37, allegedly assaulted a 45-year old female at a location on Maple Avenue while in the presence of a 3-year old child.
According to the report, the female victim “suffered serious physical injuries.” She was transported to Upstate University Hospital for treatment.
Ridley was arrested on Thursday (Feb. 15) and charged with second-degree assault and second-degree strangulation (Both Class-D Felonies), and endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal mischief (Class-A Misdemeanors).
Ridley was arraigned and sent to Cortland County Jail on $5,000 bail. He is due to appear in city court on Feb. 28.
