An overnight cold front has ushered in a much colder air mass for today.

Morning clouds will break up, revealing sunny skies for the midday and afternoon hours.

However, a steady north wind will ensure temperatures remain low. Afternoon highs will struggle to even make it into the low 20s this afternoon. This is about 25-30 degrees colder than yesterday.

Wind speeds will be around 10 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph. This will keep the wind chill values in the single digits or low 10s throughout the day.

By evening, the wind will swing around to the southwest. This wind shift will keep the bottom from falling out on our temperatures.

Instead of freefalling beneath clear, moonlit skies, temperatures will drop into the 10s early, then remain steady most of the night. A few sheltered cold pockets could slip into the single digits before the wind overcomes the radiational cooling.

Morning lows Sunday should be in the low 10s with skies starting sunny.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Early sun. Increasing clouds. Morning lows in the low 10s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Monday: More sun than clouds. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds with some late showers possible. Becoming breezy and warm. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Wednesday: Periods of rain. Breezy and warm. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
