The No.7 seeded Marathon Lady Olympians lost in the quarterfinal round of the Section IV Class C playoff tournament against No.2 seed Greene Friday night. Marathon lost the game with a score of 51-20.

“It was Marathon’s lowest scoring output all season long,” stated Marathon head coach Beth Anne Duncan. “Some of that was us not making shots and some of the credit definitely should go to the Greene defense. They turned us over at the guard position and swarmed us when the ball went inside.”

“I don’t want this game to take away from the great season that we had,” added coach Duncan. “We had some great wins and I will definitely miss this group of seniors. They (Marathon’s seniors) are all great young women.”

Marathon was led by Abby Ensign (12 points), Addison Oram (4 points), Anna Hoyt (3 points), and Kendre Euson (1 point).

Greene was led by Abilene Yahner (15 points), Josie Dutcher (10 points), Lyla Biefeldt (10 points), Claire Flanagan (6 points), Mia Yahner (4 points), Cali Knapp (3 points), Mya Leggett (2 points), and Kenley Jenks (1 points).
