The Cortland County Recycling Center provided details on the option to drop off paint and stain cans at its Pendleton Street location.
The recycling center accepts dropped off paint and stain containers daily, but the county residents must speak to a recycling center employee when they arrive.
The county recycling center noted that containers must be checked in, not dropped off and left behind. Containers also cannot go in curbside bins.
Paint must be in liquid form and in the original container with the original label. If the paint is hardened or the can is empty, it can be thrown in the trash.
