An area of low pressure will drop southeast into the Upper Great Lakes today and will pass through our area tonight.

Out ahead of this low, winds will turn to the west, then southwest this morning.

While a few early lake effect flurries will be possible, the wind shift should remove any snow from the area quickly this morning.

Much of the day will be dry but cloudy. Snow will again become possible during the late afternoon and especially this evening.

At first, scattered snow showers and perhaps a brief squall or two will move in after 5 PM. These will transition to a period of widespread snow during the evening and early overnight hours.

Accumulations through midnight will be around an inch or two.

After midnight, the snow will transition back to scattered snow showers. Accumulations should be minimal with these on and off snow showers.

The southwest winds will gust as high as 30 mph during the daytime hours and will eventually turn to the west overnight.

Afternoon highs will mostly be in the mid 30s with a few pockets sneaking into the upper 30s. Evening temperatures will drop back to the low 30s with an overnight low in the upper 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Cloudy with a few snow showers and widespread snow late. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Thursday: Morning snow showers. Breezy and cool. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. Possibly some late snow. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
