A late winter coastal storm will gradually pull away from the area today.

Snow is likely through the morning hours, coming down steadily and heavily at times. Some rain may fall early in the morning before it turns over to snow, especially in the southern parts of the county.

The snow will become lighter by midday but may linger around as late as the mid-afternoon. Skies will be mostly cloudy behind the snow until after sunset.

Total snowfall will vary by location and elevation, but a general 2-5 inches should be expected.

Temperatures will be at their warmest early in the morning in the mid 30s. By the late morning, temperatures will back towards the low 30s and will spend much of the rest of the day there.

Tonight, skies will clear, though a few passing clouds will still be possible from time to time. Evening temperatures will drop to the mid 20s and overnight lows will make it to the upper 10s.

Winds will be from the northwest throughout the day with the strongest speeds coming in the afternoon at just over 10 mph.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the upper 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 30s.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
